HARRAH – Kylen Cooper tallied eight of his team-high 18 points in the fourth quarter as the Class 4A 19th-ranked Ada Cougars rolled to a 63-44 victory over the host Harrah Panthers on Friday night.
Cooper was one of three double-digit scorers for Ada as Kobe Burgess finished with 15 points, nine in the second half, and Jaxson Robinson ended up with 14, including two treys, to go with nine rebounds.
Burgess also had seven rebounds, eight steals and a school- record 14 assists in the game.
“Kobe was simply incredible. If he had not sat out six minutes in the first half, he might have had a quadruple double,” said Mick “Voice of the Ada Cougars” Cowan.
Eight players got into the scoring column for the Cougars, as Cody Smith chipped in six points and Tanner Gilliam contributed four.
Ada outscored Harrah, 22-12, in the opening quarter, maintained that 10-point advantage at halftime, 32-22, and was up by a 44-36 count heading into the fourth. The Cougars then closed the game with a 19-8 fourth-period run.
