The Ada High School girls golf team placed four in the top 10, including medalist honors by Kendal Wilson, in winning the Atoka Tournament Thursday at the Atoka Trails Golf Course.

Ada posted a team score of 395, and Coalgate was second with a 469.

Wilson shot a 93. Teammate Hannah Price was third with a 94. Meredith McGill was fourth with a 97, and Taylor Durr ended up seventh with a 111.

“Regardless of the small field, I was happy the girls won the tournament,” said Ada girls’ head coach Ron Anderson. “Historically, this has been a pretty tough tournament because Atoka has hosted small school qualifiers, and many of these teams attended. I was proud of Kendal getting medalist, and for the first time, we had four girls bring home medals.”

Also for Ada, Lakshana Ramakrishnan ended up with a 124.

“We’re just one week from regionals, and we are playing very well right now,” Anderson said. “We know the teams that will be attending the event, and we’ll have to play our best.”

The Lady Cougars competed in the Class 4A Preview Tournament Monday at the Lake Hefner Golf Course in Oklahoma City. Ada will host a Class 4A Regional Tournament Tuesday, April 26, at the Oak Hills Golf & Country Club.
