Cougar Golfers Compete At Guthrie
04/27/19 -

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Ada Cougars showed good consistency en route to a 10th-place finish Thursday at the 2019 Guthrie Bluejay Bash, held Thursday at the Lake Hefner Golf Course.

A total of 41 teams entered the tough event.

Ada shot a two-round score of 310-310—620 and was three strokes behind ninth-place Kingfisher, which ended with a 311-306—617 score.

Stillwater won the championship after shooting a 283-279—562 score. Class 4A power Heritage Hall was runner-up at 287-284—571. Oklahoma Christian School was third at 291-281—572.

“I am pretty happy with the results today,” said Ada head coach Robbie Powell. “I am thrilled with the consistency of both rounds. Our rounds just need to come down a couple of more strokes per player. It should be a day that helps with confidence going into our regional tournament Monday at the Fire Lake Golf Course in Tecumseh.”

Stillwater standout Jack Glenn won the medalist crown with a 66-66—132, while Jaxon Dowell of OCS followed at 70-66—136. Heritage Hall’s Ben Thionnet placed third at 71-69—140.

Max Roberts led Ada with a 70-77—147. Michael Huff shot a 79-77—156, followed closely by teammates Aiden Plumlee at 80-78—158 and Matthew Brown at 81-78—159.
