Cougar Golfers Finish Eighth

he Ada Cougars finished eighth in a loaded field at the Ardmore Invitational, held Monday at the Dornick Hills Golf Course.

How loaded was it?

Edmond Memorial (ranked No. 1 in Class 6A) won the event with a two-round score of 300-299—599. Edmond North (No. 2 in Class 6A) was next at 317-304—621, while Plainview (No. 9 in Class 4A) rounded out the top three with a 315-307—622.

Edmond Santa Fe (No. 10 in 6A) was fourth at 319-319—638, while Guthrie (No. 4 in Class 5A) was fifth at 325-316-641.

Duncan (No. 6 in Class 5A), Edmond North’s second team and Bishop McGuinness (No. 1 in Class 5A) were the other teams that finished ahead of Ada.

The Cougars, ranked Nio. 2 in Class 4A, finished with a score of 334-331—665.


Max Roberts led the Ada contingent with a 70-80—150. Ryan Hagar was next at 88-79—167, while Matthew Brown was a stroke back at 84-84—168.

Rounding out the Cougar scores were Ross Kemp at 93-88-181 and Aiden Plumlee at 92-89-181.

Fresman Mack Weems, competing as an individual, fired a solid score of 79-82—161.

The Cougars now turn their attention to the Class 4A Regional Tournament, scheduled for April 30 at the Jimmie Austin Golf Course in Seminole.
