The Ada High softball team had a hard time slowing the Plainview offense down.
The Lady Indians outscored Ada 6-1 over the final four innings to break open a tight game and outslugged the Lady Cougars 16-10 Monday at the Ada High Softball Complex.
Plainview improved to 13-12 on the year and 6-4 in District 4A-3 play, while Ada dropped to 10-14.
“We fought the whole game,” said Ada head coach Taylor Canida-Henry.
It was Senior Night for the Lady Cougars, who honored Makenzi Marion, Madison Wilson, Dixie Redman and Kaley Watkins after the game.
Watkins finished 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored in Ada’s nine-hit attack and was the only AHS player with more than one hit.
Redman went 1-for-2 with two runs scored, and an RBI and walked three times from the leadoff spot in Ada’s lineup, while Marion was also 1-for-2 and scored two runs in the nine-hole position.
Amaya Frizell finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Torri Bray went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and walked twice. Avery Brown and Daryn Allison drove home two runs each for the home team.

Plainview countered with a five-run outburst in the top of the second inning and tacked on four more in the top of the third inning to push its lead to 10-4. But Ada responded with five runs in the bottom of the third to pull within 10-9.
Watkin’s two-RBI double was the big hit of that inning, which also included three walks and two hit batters.
Ada played at Byng Tuesday and ends their season on Thursday as they host Latta at 4:30 p.m.
