Ada Boys Crush Competition At Regionals
05/10/18 -

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Ada High School boys tennis team cashed in on perfection Monday, as they swept both singles titles and both doubles crowns in capturing a Class 4A Regional championship Monday at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.

Harrison Boggs and Christian Siegle were the singles champions for the Cougars, while the doubles teams of Reese Siegle/Landon Swopes and Ryan McCortney/Lane Taylor secured the doubles titles.

Boggs, at No. 1 Singles, hammered Anadarko’s Anthony Miller in the finals by a 6-1, 6-4 count to claim the crown.

At No. 2 Singles, Christian Siegle blitzed Elk City’s Will Thompson, 6-0, 6-1 for the top prize.

Reese Siegle and Swopes rolled to the No. 1 Doubles championship with a 6-0, 6-2 decision over Anadarko’s Jon Perez and Xavier Toehay in the finals.

At No. 2 Doubles, McCortney and Taylor collaborated for a 6-2, 6-0 rout of Clinton’s Luke Spiers and Parker Williams in the title match.

Ada is coming off two straight boys state championships. The Cougars won the 2016 title and shared the crown in 2017.

The Cougars will compete in the state tournament Friday and Saturday at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.
